John Taphouse

John is a Chartered Surveyor, member of the Association for Project Management and is a qualified Retrofit Coordinator. He has over 30-years’ experience in housing asset management. John provides interim management and consultancy services. He is currently working with Epping Forest District Council as Interim Head of Asset Management. Amongst his many priorities, John is developing the Council’s strategy for improving the energy efficiency of the homes the Council provides. For John, asset management is more than structure and fabric. It’s about good quality housing being a foundation for people to fulfil their potential.
Kate Watson

Kate is a Principal Consultant in the Sustainability Team at Turner & Townsend. Kate is a workstream lead on the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero funded Technical Assistance Facility (RISE), heading up a team of technical consultants who provide 1:1 bespoke advice to local authorities and housing providers keen to benefit from government funding to support their compliance with EPC C targets and net zero ambitions. Kate also leads our Social Housing ESG team who have provided baselining and year on year data analysis to support improvements against targets. Kate has 15 years’ experience in the retrofit at scale sector, having previously delivered government funded retrofit schemes for local authorities and social housing providers, across all three tenures
