Delivering Retrofit at Scale
A LivGreen Webinar

Welcome to our webinar on "Delivering Retrofit on Scale," where we address the challenges faced by landlords navigating patchwork stock data and generic models in funding applications. Unlike the PAS 2035 SAP modelling, our discussion emphasises the necessity of property-specific improvement options and energy modelling, aligning with SHDF guidance to enhance application success. Explore how Retrofit Coordinators play a pivotal role in guiding landlords through the funding application process, ensuring tailored feasibility assessments for optimal value for money and eligibility.
The details:
Wednesday 13th March 2024
10:00 am - 11:30 am
If you ar unable to attend the webinar, please book a recap session with one of our consultants who will discuss the webinar with you and ways of moving forward.
Topics of discussion:
- Landlords come to us with patchwork stock data, broadly and crudely modelled, sometimes done using 3rd party software, to make funding applications.
- This is no replacement for the PAS 2035 SAP modelling, improvement option and energy modelling process on a property by property basis (i.e. in line with SHDF guidance), so applications suffer.
-Retrofit coordinators are designed to help landlords develop retrofit-at-scale projects during funding application process by carrying out highly specific value for money and eligibility feasibility work.
- Overview of Parity tools (Portfolio and Surveyor Pro) focusing on delivery of funded schemes
- An integrated approach from strategy and funding application to delivery and reporting
- How one version of the truth optimises delivery and future programmes
- The role of IoT sensors in retrofit projects, enabling continuous, real-time monitoring of energy consumption and environmental conditions, highlighting how these sensors provide critical data that can be used to evaluate the performance of retrofits, ensuring they meet intended energy efficiency targets and identifying areas for further improvement.
- How the use of data collected from IoT sensors can inform decision-making processes, from initial assessment through to post-retrofit evaluation
- Addressing the challenge of delivering retrofit at scale by showing how advanced data analytics can process and analyse vast amounts of data across multiple properties to identify trends, predict retrofit outcomes, and allocate resources more efficiently, thereby enhancing the scalability and impact of retrofit programs.
Guest Speakers
Andy Dale
PAS 2035 retrofit coordinator and registered architect at LivGreen
Andy studied in Plymouth and registered in 2002. Worked for heritage commercial and international architectural firms before becoming a sole-practitioner in Bristol until 2022. A lot of experience in refurbishment and alteration projects led him to retrofit as a specialism. Qualified under lockdown - building back green!
Andy’s role at LivGreen is heading up the retrofit and design team. In-house, this involves oversight of energy modelling, improvement option evaluation, retrofit design and site coordination practice under PAS 2035, as well as planning and Building Regulations matters. Client-facing roles include establishing intended outcomes, conversion of stock analysis for retrofit-at-scale, and project planning.
