The Building Communities Awards celebrate organisations that go beyond bricks and mortar, those that create lasting, positive impact for residents, neighbourhoods and the wider environment. As the awards celebrate their 10th anniversary in 2026, this year’s shortlist represents some of the most forward-thinking and impactful organisations in the housing and construction sector.

To be recognised at this milestone moment reinforces that LivGreen’s approach to retrofit, rooted in environmental responsibility, social value and long-term outcomes, is making a real difference.

Our shortlisting comes from our submission to the Sustainability category, which recognises organisations delivering innovative projects or embedding sustainable operational practices that advance environmental performance.

As a specialist retrofit contractor, we provide a one-stop solution for high-quality retrofit delivery, supporting housing providers through every stage of their decarbonisation journey. Our work focuses on:

• Reducing carbon emissions

• Improving energy efficiency

• Minimising waste and resource use

• Tackling fuel poverty

• Enhancing comfort, health and wellbeing for residents

To date, we’ve supported 300+ housing associations, worked across 100,000+ sites, and achieved average savings of 874kg of carbon per property per year, figures that demonstrate both scale and impact.

• 96% resident satisfaction

• Average energy bill savings of £1,224 per household per year

• Improved indoor air quality and reduced damp and mould

• EPC improvements from D to C and above
