We visited Taff Wells to hold one of these events, ahead of our latest retrofit project in partnership with Hafod. This particular project is part of the Optimised Retrofit Programme 3.2, funded by the Welsh Government, with the aim of meeting the Welsh Housing Quality Standard 2025. But while the technical upgrades are crucial for sustainability, it’s the residents who are at the heart of our work.
For LivGreen, resident engagement is about more than just sharing information, it’s about creating an environment of trust. These pre-engagement events are designed to offer clarity, build relationships, and ensure that residents feel comfortable with every aspect of the work.
Addressing Questions and Concerns:
During these events, we take the time to answer residents’ questions face-to-face. We explain what the retrofit work will entail, what the timeline looks like, and how it will affect their day-to-day lives. This is often the first time residents hear about the details of the project, and it’s our chance to reassure them.
Making Special Considerations:
We understand that every community is different, and many of the residents we work with may be elderly or vulnerable. Pre-engagement allows us to identify those who may need extra support, whether that’s adjusting the schedule or ensuring minimal disruption to their routines. By planning ahead, we can tailor our approach to meet individual needs.
Building Relationships:
One of the most important aspects of these events is the opportunity for residents to meet our team before the work starts. By introducing them to the people who will be entering their homes, we help build familiarity and trust. This personal connection makes the entire process feel less daunting and more collaborative.
At LivGreen, we believe that a successful project is about more than just installing new windows or insulation. It’s about ensuring the people who live in these homes feel respected and valued. By engaging residents from the outset and keeping their needs front and center, we create a smoother process for everyone involved.
Through events like the one at Taff Wells, we don’t just introduce ourselves—we build relationships that make the entire retrofit journey more positive. These gatherings are a critical step in ensuring that residents are not just passive recipients of home improvements, but active participants in the process.
As we move forward with the Optimised Retrofit Programme 3.2 at Taff Wells, we are excited to not only improve the energy efficiency of these homes but to continue strengthening our relationship with the community.
